Dates and oats dessert
Ingredients
- Flour: a cup
- Oats: a cup
- Sugar: half a cup
- Dates molasses: a quarter of a cup
- Bicarbonate of soda: a quarter of a teaspoon
- Baking powder: a quarter of a teaspoon
- Butter: ½ cup (soft)
- Dates: a cup (chopped)
- Water: half a cup
- Lemon juice: 1 tablet
- Hazelnuts: 1/3 cup (chopped)
How to prepare
- Heat the dates with water in a saucepan over the heat until boiling, for 5 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat, then add the lemon juice and hazelnuts.
- Mix the flour with the oats, sugar, date molasses, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.
- Add the butter to the oats mixture and mash the mixture until the butter is crumbled and blended with the mixture.
- Pour two-thirds of the mixture into a tray and spread evenly.
- Spread a layer of dates and hazelnuts on top.
- Spread the rest of the oatmeal mixture on the face and press it gently.
- Put the tray in the oven for 35 minutes, or until the color of the dessert is golden.
- Leave the sweets cool, then cut and serve.
