Dates and oats dessert

 



Ingredients

  • Flour: a cup
  • Oats: a cup
  • Sugar: half a cup
  • Dates molasses: a quarter of a cup
  • Bicarbonate of soda: a quarter of a teaspoon
  • Baking powder: a quarter of a teaspoon
  • Butter: ½ cup (soft)
  • Dates: a cup (chopped)
  • Water: half a cup
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablet
  • Hazelnuts: 1/3 cup (chopped)




How to prepare


  • Heat the oven to 175°C.


  • Heat the dates with water in a saucepan over the heat until boiling, for 5 minutes.


  • Remove the pot from the heat, then add the lemon juice and hazelnuts.


  • Mix the flour with the oats, sugar, date molasses, bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.


  • Add the butter to the oats mixture and mash the mixture until the butter is crumbled and blended with the mixture.


  • Pour two-thirds of the mixture into a tray and spread evenly.


  • Spread a layer of dates and hazelnuts on top.


  • Spread the rest of the oatmeal mixture on the face and press it gently.


  • Put the tray in the oven for 35 minutes, or until the color of the dessert is golden.


  • Leave the sweets cool, then cut and serve.
