- - Dough: 375 g (butter dough)
- Sugar: 50 gm (Demerara sugar)
- Eggs: 1 piece (scrambled)
- Fine sugar: 100
grams (sifted)
How to prepare
- Preheat the oven to 180 / 200 ° C, put baking paper in the bottom of a large baking tray, melt the butter in a saucepan and add the apples, dates, lemon zest and one tablespoon of lemon juice.

- Roll the dough into a rectangle about one centimeter thick. A sharp knife is used to cut into 6 squares.
- Remove the apple mixture from the freezer and add the demerara sugar. Place one tablespoon of apples in the middle of each square.
- Brush edge of half of each square with beaten egg, then fold over the other side, sealing edges with a fork with a hole in the top to let steam escape.
- Place on a baking tray, brush with beaten eggs and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar with a little lemon juice to make a thick cream, which is sprinkled with a spoon over the baked goods. It is eaten warm and can be served with custard.
